Hi, I’m Jessica, founder of The Tethered Compass.
When I was 16, I had the opportunity to travel to Australia with a group of local high school students. Less than 24 hours after landing in Sydney, I had fully caught the travel bug.
That three week trip presented me with opportunities I would never have found on my own, even if I were to plan that trip now. It was full cultural immersion; we spent time in the Northern Territory with Aboriginal tribes learning to start fires and basket weave. We had the opportunity to participate in homestays with local families in Cairns. There were so many unbelievable experiences that expanded my world and mind in infinite ways, and I gained lifelong friends in the process.
I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since. Working with local, in-destination partners to assemble small-group itineraries, I’m excited to provide what I hope will be a similar experience for participants - the opportunity to connect with the people, culture, and nature of a destination with a group of fellow travelers.
